Bangkok - Chiang Mai Zoo’s aquarium will soon be available as there were more than 90% progress of the construction.
Dr. Sophon Damnui, director of the Zoological Park Organization, revealed that the construction of the aquarium would be completed soon.
Only the decoration of the coral reefs and system test needed to be done. The salt water was provided for salt-water fish as well.
It was expected the aquarium would open in October.
More than 8,000 freshwater and salt-water fishes would be displayed. More than 3,000 species of fish would be available.
Specialized officials would take care of fish closely so as to prevent the death of fish in the system.
Concerns over the structure of the aquarium were expressed. But, Sophon ensured engineers designed the aquarium to serve the earthquake.
The government invested 300 million baht on the aquarium construction. As a result, the admission fee would not be too high.
