Bangkok - Sondhi Limthongkul, one of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) told the demonstrators that he believed the situation would be settled in 1-2 days.

PAD has begun its rally since August 25, calling Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej and his cabinet to resign.

This morning, the premier announced the state of emergency decree to disperse the protesters at the Government House.

It was then reported the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship would attack ASTV office on Phra Arthit Road. But it changed its mind, citing safety reason.

Sondhi said the conflict would end whenever the government dispersed the demonstrators or arrest the PAD leaders.

The rally has continuously gone on as people have gradually joined the rallying group.

Both Thai and foreign press have closely observed the situation.
