Bangkok - A warrant for Miss Daranee Chancherngsilpakul’s arrest will be issued today, according to Chanasongkram police station’s deputy superintendant.
Pol Lt Col Sumeth Chitpanich revealed police would sumbit the lese majeste case against Miss Daranee Chancherngsilpakul, aka ‘Da Torpido’ to Metropolitan Police Bureau’s commander Pol Maj Gen Amnuay Nimmano.
The case would further be proposed to the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s board meeting for approval.
Pol Lt Col Sumeth confirmed the Criminal Court’s approval would ceretainly be sought to enable the arrest warrant within today.
Sondhi Limthongkul, one of the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) leaders, raised the lese majeste issue last night.
Daranee was said to strongly insult HM the Queen during her speech at Sanam Luang on July 18.
He criticized the police for being more willing to take a legal action against Somkiat Pongpaibul, another PAD leader who filed a lawsuit against the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
