Bangkok - Some state enterprise employees striked back Samak government by taking sick leaves to show support to the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) rally at the Government House.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) Governor Yuthana Thapcharoen revealed up to 10% or 240 train drivers took sick leaves and this made the service not available on some routes.
The governor called an executives meeting at noon. A panel was set up to find out facts and solve the problem soon.
Conclusion was expected to reach within this evening.
Train service on the northern and northeastern routes has already halted, and most people were affected by the service suspension.
Yuthana believed the strike was politically motivated and the employees were entitled to take their leaves.
So far, all southern trains have stopped their service.
