Bangkok - More alarming towers will be installed at 144 points of the north, northeast and central region. The installation will be completed by the end of this year.
Smith Dharmmasaroj, director of the National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC), said 76 alarming towers were installed on the Andaman coast and 48 alarming towers were installed in the Gulf of Thailand.
The annual evacuation rehearsal will take place in six southern provinces on July 7.
Those provinces are Krabi, Phuket, Phang Nga, Ranong, Trang and Satun.
Smith also said Thailand might be affected by the global warming and that could cause storms during August-December.
However, the Meteorological Department (MD) can warn people of the storms five days in advance.
Advance warnings can also be issued on the Radio Thailand and other 525 radio stations nationwide.
