Bangkok - Chat Thai Party leader Banharn Silpa-archa said he did not meet or talk to the then-premier Thaksin Shinawatra before coming to court, adding he had no idea how the court would question him.
Banharn confirmed he would testify according to facts.
Chuan Leekpai, chairman of Democrat Party’s advisory council, Veera Somkwamkid, secretary-general of the Anti-Corruption People’s Network, and Mrs. Kalayanee Rujthalakarn are also expected to testify about the case.
Thaksin is accused of using his political influence to help his wife Pojaman buy a plot of prime Bangkok property at a bargain price.
Pojaman bought the land at one-third of its estimated price from the central bank's Financial Institution Development Fund.
They can each face up to 13 years in prison if convicted.
The case is the first in a slate of legal proceedings against Thaksin, his family and aides.
Veera revealed he had new significant evidence to submit to the judges today.
