Bangkok - The ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra’s spokesman Pongthep Thepkanchana confirmed the foreign businessmen only wanted to buy rice from Thailand to sell in their country.
Chat Thai deputy party leader and Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Somsak Prisananantakul previously disagreed with Thaksin to bring the Saudi Arabian businessmen to invest doing farming in Thailand.
Thaksin was much criticized for betraying his country as he invited 21 Dubaian businessmen to invest in Thailand.
Somsak said letting foreigners invest in doing farming here entirely killed Thai farmers.
Chat Thai party secretary general Prapat Pothasuthon’s intimate revealed Somsak was not happy as Thaksin contacted Prapat to give convenience to those businessmen.
Thaksin was said to have a close relationship with Mr. Prapat.
However, the 21 Dubaian businessmen already postponed their trip to see the farming process in Supanburi province.
Thaksin’s spokesman Pongthep Thepkanchana confirmed the foreign businessmen only wanted to bring Thai rice to sell in their country.
He added that the issue would be further dealt so that Thai rice will be available overseas.
