Bangkok - Cambodia decided to temporarily close its Preah Vihear temple after some Thai people protested in Srisaket province.
More than 200 Thai people yesterday protested near the Thai-Cambodian border against Cambodia’s Preah Vihear temple’s registration.
It was reported about 500 Cambodian people built their houses, shops and temples on the Thai soil for ten years.
About 300 policemen and soldiers showed up to ensure the protesters’ safety.
They vowed to protest on every Saturday and Sunday until Thailand got its right in the Preah Vihear temple back.
A coordination center will be established to carry out the goal.
They also urged other Thai people to dismiss those Cambodians who lived on the Thai soil.
