Bangkok - Many provinces joined to make merits in a hope to bring peace back to Thai society.
More than 500 civil servants, merchants, students and people in Buriram province gave alms to 99 monks and meditated in a hope to get the peaceful society back.
In Trad province, Deputy Trad Governor Somsak Yonokphand also led people to dress in white.
In Nonthaburi province, Vichienti Putthivinyu, Deputy Nonthaburi Governor, led the civil servants and people to give dried food to 82 monks.
Sukhothai Governor Wanchai Suthin as well as Deputy Sukhothai Governor led people to give dried food to 82 monks to dedicate to the late Princess Galyani Vadhana.
Samut Prakan Governor and more than 300 people joined to make merits in Samut Prakan province.
84 and 82 monks in Nan and Sakaew province received alms from people who joined to mark the country’s merit-making rite as well.
