Bangkok - Though less Thai children are forced to labour, the alien children tend to be exploited more.
The World Day Against Child Labour falls on June 12.
This year, the elimination of child labour in agriculture is focused. Agriculture is the sector where largest percentage of working children is found worldwide.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) estimated more than 218 million children were forced to labour in fields, factories, mines, sweatshops, and even the streets.
More than half of that had to take harmful work.
Less Thai children are found in the working world. Children are exploited in Samut Sakon and Ranong province the most.
However, alien children who are less than 15 years old are forced to labour more, according to the ILO.
The labour ministry reported that more than 100,000 children registered for work last year.
