Bangkok - The People’s Alliance for Democracy leaders submitted the signatures of people who want to impeach the MPs and Senators backing the constitution amendments.
PAD leaders Somsak Kosaisuk and Pipop Thongchai represented the PAD to hand 28,549 signatures of people to the Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondej.
This is to support the impeachment of the MPs and Senators backing the 2007 constitution amendments.
The northern isarn group led by Somsak Kiatsuranant called for a meeting with MPs in his group to estimate the situation.
They later agreed to withdraw their signatures to back the charter change, making the motion be taken out of the parliament automatically.
However, more than 100 People Power Party (PPP) MPs plan to submit the amendments motion on the behalf of the MPs again.
It was reported they would go ahead with their plan as soon as the proposed motion failed to enter the parliament.
Signatures would be gathered right away after the newly-proposed motion was submitted.
