Bangkok - A People Power Party (PPP) member confirmed the constitution amendments would be pushed further.
Nisit Sinthupai, member of a committee on charter change, said the PPP’s senior executives as well as the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra gave no signal to withdraw the motion of the constitution amendments from the parliament.
Nisit is the leader to gather the signature of MPs and Senators who support such a motion.
Pacharaj party leader Sanoh Thienthong gave his opinion that the motion would surely be aborted.
Sanoh urged the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PPP) to end its rally, also believing the motion would not be supported by MPs.
Nisit said he would fully push the motion through the parliament.
He reasoned there was no need to withdraw the motion as it could be delayed if the MPs or the House Speaker did not bring the motion up for consideration.
PPP member Sunai Jullapongsathorn also confirmed the PPP would go ahead with the motion.
