Noppadon to meet with ambassadors, consuls-general

Bangkok - Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama will meet with ambassadors, consuls-general and foreign affairs ministry’s high-rank officials to assign policies to them on May 28.

Policies concerning Thailand’s neighboring countries, energy and food security as well as visiting plans and future missions will be given to them.

Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej yesterday presided over the meeting to assign the policies Thai ambassadors and consuls-general in 64 countries.

The government plans to make the Thai embassy become the business information center.

The setup of the foreign affairs institute and Pracha Maitree center in Bangkok are also included in its plan.

The government also plans to establish the Raja Maitree center in Berlin.

Noppadon previously said three foreign ambassadors expressed concerns that the People’s Alliance for Democracy rally would affect Thailand’s tourism, image and foreign investment.
