Bangkok - Thai ambassadors and consuls-general worldwide were told to explain the political situation in Thailand to foreign investors.
Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee asked Thai ambassadors and consuls-general to tell foreign investors there would not be another millitary coup.
Surapong yesterday gave an interview after assigning the monetary and fiscal policy to the ambassadors and consuls-general.
He said Thailand’s investment climate was worsened by the political situation, admitting both Thai and foreign investors expressed concerns over the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) rally.
But Surapong positively thought everyone learned from the past lessons and know what they should do so as not to affect the country.
Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama said the PAD rally did not affect the government’s stability.
However, the escalating rally would affect the investor sentiments and investment in the long run.
The PAD has begun its rally since May 25.
