Bangkok - The Assembly of the Poor yesterday went to the British Embassy to follow up with Thaksin flag case after it had sent a letter to protest against the issue.
Its delegates waved Thailand’s national flag in front of the embassy to protest against the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
Founded on 10 December 1995 on International Human Rights Day, the Assembly of the Poor is a non-governmental organization aimed at helping those affected by development projects and industries to become involved in the projects to benefit from them.
Thaksin was much criticized for allowing the texts “THAKSIN” and WELCOME THAKSIN” to appear on the national flag.
Apologizing for the mistake made by his Manchester City fans, he said they just wanted to show their admiration for him.
Man City yesterday arrived in Thailand to play its post-season match with a Thai team before heading to Hong Kong.
Asked about his future with the club, Man City manager Eriksson refused to give any comments.
