Bangkok - The Meteorological Department (MD) asked Thai people not to be panicked by an earthquake in China.
The earthquake struck China’s Sichuan province, measured 7.5 on the Richter scale.
The center of the earthquake is about 1,000 kilometres from Chiang Rai province and about 2,000 kilometres from Bangkok.
The vibration can be felt on high-rise buildings in Bangkok, Shanghai, Chengdu, Taipei and Hanoi.
In Bangkok, affected areas include Silom and Sathorn area.
People in those areas were evacuated from the areas for their safety. They were asked not to be panicked and stay in the safe places.
