Bangkok - Thai Air Asia will delay opening its new flying routes, focusing on services and corporate management. It plans to seek the government’s clarity of its airport policy.
The low-cost airline has adjusted its plan to be in line with the situation by postponing its new routes opening.
Thai Air Asia may open one or two new routes this year, focusing on service improvement and corporate management.
It will send a letter to ask for the government’s policy on airport management through the Airports of Thailand.
According to Thai Air Asia CEO Tasapon Bijleveld, it will be reasonable if all domestic and overseas flights are relocated to Don Muang Airport for at least ten years .
18-seat Airbus A320 aircrafts have been used to replace the 148-seat Boeing 737-300s to cut the maintenance cost.
The airline will focus on cheap tickets to attract customers. At least, two marketing campaigns will be held in each month throughout the year.
4.8-5 million passengers are targeted at the end of this year. Listing on the SET is also targeted in next two years.
