Bangkok - Egat Governor expects the Ft cost will hike in next six months due to increasing natural gas price.
Mr. Sombat Santichari, Egat Governor, revealed up to 70% of natural gas was used for Thailand’s power generating.
The price of natural gas for power generation will rise from 195 to 202 baht per million BTUs during February-May 2008.
As a result the Ft cost will hike 0.04-0.05 baht per unit.
The natural gas price is likely to reach 100 US dollars per barrel in the world market.
However, Egat will try to maintain its power generating capacity at 18,000 million units as it did in 2007.
