Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will start the Green Bangkok Wi-Fi in the second year on July 1.
BMA has joined True Corporation Plc to provide free wireless Internet service in Bangkok.
Thai people can register for and renew their membership at www.truewifi.net.
The first year Bangkok Wi-Fi project ends on June 30, and will continue for three years.
The number of service users was averagely 40,000 per month in the past year. 100,000 people registered to access the wi-fi service.
In this second year, the service is upgraded since 256 Kbps broadband Internet is offered. Only one hour per month of free service is available.
Unlimited service use is also available. However, the Internet speed is 64 Kbps.
Registration for membership will start on July 1. Only 13-digit identity card number is required for registration.
