Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – The Thai-Cambodian border situation in Srisaket province has still been tense because Thai and Cambodian forces are facing each other.

Villagers in Kantharak District still live their life as usual. However, they are ready to evacuate from the area if a violent incident happens.

Villagers were told not to go out of the area for their safety.

Preah Vihear now closes, and tourists are not allowed to access Pah Mor E-Dang indefinitely due to the border conflict.

To reduce the border tension, a joint discussion will take place next month, according to Second Army Region Commander Lt Gen Vibulsak Neepan.

Cambodia’s Premier Hun Sen earlier told a foreign news agency that the registration of Preah Vihear as the world’s heritage would not be discussed with the Thai side.

Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban is scheduled to visit Cambodia to tighten both countries’ ties on June 27.

Suthep will be accompanied by Defence Minister Pravit Wongsuwan.
