Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Academics as well as child and youth organizations expressed concerns over online lottery since 15 percent of children already bought the underground lottery.
Underground lottery buyers included Prathom and university students, according to the child and youth research & development center.
Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Education held a discussion on the impact of online lottery on youths and family on June 16.
It was found that more Thai children bought lottery when growing up.
It is believed that the number of children and youths buying lottery would rise more than onefold if the government went ahead with online lottery.
Lottery is popular among Thai children because it can be bought easily and challenging.
Online lottery is considered a kind of vice and will lure youths to walk on the path to ruin more.
It will also make them become lavish and want to be rich without working at all.
