Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Three more people got the influenza (H1N1) 2009 and one of them has not traveled abroad, according to the public health ministry.
Two 20-year-old men were registered as the influenza type-A patients. Both of them have just returned to Thailand from the United States on June 7-8.
However, one 11-year-old boy was also infected by the new influenza virus even though he has never been abroad before.
The boy reportedly had high fever and got sick on June 6, according to public health minister Vittaya Kaewparadai.
This case marks Thailand’s first domestic infection and more flu cases can be further found.
Two Taiwanese people were earlier infected by the swine flu after visiting Pattaya.
The hotel they stayed during their visit to Thailand is being examined.
So far, there have been sixteen influenza 2009 patients in Thailand and most of them got the disease from overseas travel. No death is reported.
