Two influenza 2009 suspects are closely watched

Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – One Swedish and one Hong Konger who were suspected for developing the influenza 2009 were examined properly.

Dr. Boonsueb Leeniva, director of the Samut Prakan Hospital, revealed that the overall symptoms of the two foreign tourists were not worrying.

Swedish tourist had high fever measured at 39 degrees celsius and already received an Oseltamivir anti-virus drug.

Both tourists were sent from the Suvarnabhumi Airport to the hospital after having fever last night.

Public health ministry collected the samples to test if they are infected by the influenza 2009. Results will be known not later than tomorrow.

Influenza (H1N1) 2009 which was first named the swine flu started to spread in Mexico. Many people have developed this disease so far.

According to the World Health Organization, the number of influenza 2009 patients rises nearly 800 and five more people died from this illness as of yesterday.

There are currently more than 11,000 patients in 41 countries worldwide, and 85 have died so far.
