Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Thailand is at stake when the red shirts today hold its mass rally to mobilize more people to join the anti-government protest.

It was estimated that the number of protesters would reach about 80,000, and violent turmoil could possibly take place if the number rose to 300,000.

Tearful Newin Chidchob yesterday asked people not to join the red shirts’ rally as some of the leaders of the anti-government protest planned to bring the incident to violence.

It is uncertain whether Newin’s reaction against his previous boss Thaksin Shinawatra would become fruitful.

However, it is more certain the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) had an idea to build a new Thailand with the red supporters and D Station TV.

Some anti-government supporters yesterday blocked Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s motorcade while the premier was traveling back to Bangkok. This possibly made some Thais misunderstand the red shirts had more power to control the traffic than traffic police themselves.

People in the Thai society once wondered why Thaksin did not come back to prove his innocence in court, even though some rural people had a different idea on this issue.

Thais once again wonder where Thaksin and the red shirts are going to lead this country to. If it is not a good place to visit, let’s hope we Thais may not be part of that particular scene.
