POITIERS, France (AFP) - Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited a nuclear plant on the second day of a private visit to France on Wednesday, her staff said.
The princess travelled from Paris on board a high-speed TGV train to the Civeaux power plant operated by state firm Electricite de France near the central-western city of Poitiers.
A fluent French speaker, Princess Sirindhorn toured a distance learning centre near Poitiers and lunched in a nearby manor before returning to Paris, according to her staff.
She was Thursday to receive an honorary doctorate from the French School of Far-Eastern Studies, EFEO, before visiting an exhibition on Buddhism in Thailand at the Guimet Museum in Paris.
Her visit wraps up on Friday with a visit to the Paris fashion and textile museum.
