Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Storm surge is likely to take place in May in the Gulf of Thailand, and it will happen more often in the central region, northeast as well as north.

Smith Dhammasaroj, chairman of the National Disaster Warning Center, emphasized that storm surge would occur more if people did not help to conserve environment and fight global warming.

It was also forecast that Bangkok would certainly remain at 1.5-2 metres below the sea level in the near future.

The very hot weather before March signals that this year’s weather will be hotter, especially in the north, northeast and central region.

Higher temperature results in more evaporating water at the soil surface.

Tropical storms at the speed of 40-50 kilometres per hour will also become more severe. This is dangerous for households, high-rise buildings and advertising signs which are not attached well.

Vegetarian food was said to turn the world green. It is good for health and heart. This kind of food will lead to less tree cutting as farmers do not have to clear the forest for their animal farming.

As a result, world’s temperature will go down since trees help absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.
