Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Thai people in all regions gave alms to monks to mark the Makha Bucha Day on February 9. More teenagers went to temple to listen to sermons.
In Songkhla, Thais gave alms to monks to dedicate the merits to police, soldiers and officials who died in the southern unrest. People prayed for peace in the southern provinces.
In Yala, a religious ceremony took place earlier for safety. The ceremony was to boost monks and novices’ spirit as they kept disseminating Buddha teachings despite unrest. Yala people joined to listen to Dharma.
In Narathiwat, monks were invited to receive alms from officials and those who lost their loves in the unrest.
The atmosphere was quite busy in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Ten thousands of people showed up since there was a procession to present robes to the Buddha image.
The atmosphere was quiet in Uttraladit. People went to temples near their houses to reduce spending due to economic recession.
More Lampang people went to temples for mental peace and happiness.
The atmosphere was busy in Phichit. Young and aged people joined to present the Sangha offerings to monks. Teenagers dressed in white to practice Dharma.
In Buriram, people gave rice and dried stuff to monks. They also freed birds and prayed for better political situation and economy.
