A source at commerce ministry revealed that Pornthiva would launch the blue flag scheme to cut the cost of living.

The project focuses on blue-flagged shops, services, agricultural products and outlets. The three-month plan will start in February.

The scheme will be extended if necessary, depending on the economic condition.

At blue-flagged shops, consumer products which are less than 60 baht will be sold. The concept shop has already opened at Siam Paragon. More shops will be available at schools, hotels, airports and so on.

Blue-flagged services include taxi service in which the initial fare will start at 30 baht. Services also cover the hotel, cargo, restaurant, shopping mall, entertainment as well as tourism sector.

Blue-flagged agricultural products will be sold to both consumers and manufacturers to stimulate Thai product consumption.

All blue-flagged and made-in-Thailand products will be available at the blue-flagged outlets. Product fair will last for 7-15 days, and prices will be cheaper than the market prices.
