Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – People in Bangkok changed their behaviors in line with the weather condition. Power and water consumption dropped.
Changing behaviors included less shower taking, no use of air-conditioner and earlier bedtime.
Veerachart Olapiriyakul, Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) Governor, revealed that the water consumption rate of people in Bangkok and adjourning provinces fell 300,000 cubic metres.
The figures accounted for three percent of the regular water consumption.
The consumption rate normally remains at 4.8 million cubic metres a day while the rate will only be 4.5 million cubic metres during cool weather.
The temperature in Bangkok dropped 2-4 degrees celsius on January 12. The lowest temperature was 14.2 degrees celsius.
