Bangkok (Manager Online) - Abhisit government started its policy delivery at 11:30, focusing on monarchy, reconciliation, self-sufficiency economy and political reform.

The government decided to deliver its policy statements at the foreign ministry after failing to either enter parliament or reach an agreement with the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD) group.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva began his speech by mentioning the political problem Thailand is facing.

He also talked about the economic impact which would happen next year because of declining exports and investment.

The premier insisted the government’s policy would focus on maintaining monarchy, building reconciliation, boosting economy, and developing democratic principles as well as enforcing laws fairly.

Government has both urgent and long-term policy. Its urgent policy includes boosting economic confidence, investment, and unity without violence.

An organization will permanently be established to deal with problems in southern provinces. A committee on political reform will also be set up to seek all parties’ participation.

The ASEAN Summit hosting will be sped up as well.

310 MPs and Senators attended the first extraordinary session this morning though no opposition MPs were present.
