Bangkok (Manager Online) - Surapong Toevichakchaikul, Chiang Mai MP from the Puathai Party, filed a petition to the Election Commission (EC) to take a legal action against the Democrats.
Some evidence was also submitted to the EC.
Surapong accused the Democrats of bringing in politicians who were deprived of their political rights to set up the government.
He said such action was against the Article 96 and 98 of the Constitution Law, urging the EC to use the same standard for all political parties.
The Puathai Party is established after the People Power Party (PPP) was disbanded.
Acting Public Health Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung argued it was impossible for the Democrat Party to have 260 MPs to form the government.
He confirmed the new prime minister would not come from Puathai Party, so that the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) could not use that condition to stage the street protests again.
