Bangkok - International flights at the Suvarnabhumi Airport will resume on Thursday since the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) is planning to end its protest today.

"We hope to resume flights on December 4, hopefully. From tomorrow night, the first departure flight will be Bangkok-Rome, a Thai Airways flight," said Vudhibhandhu Vichairatana, chairman of the board of Airports of Thailand (AOT).

"We will try and get everything back to normal as soon as possible," he told reporters at Suvarnabhumi international airport.

A Thai Airways domestic flight is due to arrive at the Suvarnabhumi Airport from Phuket on Wednesday.

The flight was originally scheduled to land at the U-Tapao Airport, which has been temporarily used as the main exit point for travelers, but will arrive at the Suvarnabhumi at 2:00 pm.

The PAD has started its protest against the government since May 25, last night announcing that it would stop protests at the Government House, Don Muang Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport today.

However, it will come back again if the Thaksin-related government is in power and leads the country to another political turmoil.

AOT targets all services will be able to resume by midnight of December 4. Thai Airway flights are set to leave for Italy, Australia and Japan on December 4.
