Bangkok - The Meteorological Department yesterday issued its fourth announcement, warning of cool weather in the upper parts of Thailand, heavy rain and flash floods in south.
The low-pressure mass still passed the central south.
With the low-pressure mass in the lower South China Sea, plenty of rain could be expected in the south.
Heavy rain would also be in some areas such as Chumporn, Surat Thani, Phang Nga, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phattalung, Songkhla, Trang and Satun.
People in those areas were warned of flash floods and mountain run-off during October 24-27.
Powerful wind and waves would be in the Gulf of Thailand. Waves of two-three metres high could be expected during October 25-27.
The high-pressure mass coming from China moved down to cover the north and northeast.
Such mass was expected to cover the central region and eastern part of Thailand today.
As a result, more rain would be in the upper parts of Thailand during October 23-24.
The temperature will drop 2-4 degree Celsius.
