Bangkok - Ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawa faced two years in jail after the Supreme Court found he did against the National Counter Corruption Commission Act.
The ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Pojaman Shinawatra were sued by the Attorney-General Office in the Ratchadapisek land case.
Thaksin was accused of using his power to help his wife buy the land at a lower price than it should be.
About 200 people of the pro-government group came to hear the verdict in front the Supreme Court at 12:30 pm.
The case attracted lot of local and foreign reporters’ attention.
The Supreme Court began reading its verdict at 2:00 pm. Austere security
measures were applied at the court.
This morning, a bomb blast happened at the house of Akarathorn
Chularat, chief judge of the Supreme Administrative Court.
Luckily, Akarathorn flew to Cairo, Egypt to attend a juridical discussion
during October 19-25.
