Bangkok - RDX substance which is used to make an explosive was found in tear gas fired at Angkana Radabpanyavut or Nong Bow, according to forensic expert Khunying Pornthip Pornthip Rojjanasunant.
Pornthip, director of the Central Institute of Forensic Science, said RDX was a harmful substance used in explosive making.
The tear gas with RDX substance is imported from China as there is no RDX substance in tear gas imported from the United States and Spain.
The forensic expert added that parts of tear gas bullets she received from the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) group matched those used by police on October 7 crackdown.
Khunying Pornthip said China’s tear gas was purchased by somebody. It was not clear if tear gas was tested before using with people or not.
Police told her that such tear gas was bought from China in 1995 and used up.
So far, about 417 people were injured while two were dead due to clashes on October 7.
