Bangkok - The Meteorological Department predicted 70% of rain could be expected in all parts of Thailand due to low-pressure mass and southwest monsoon.

Rain in several northern provinces such as Chiang Rai, Payao, Nan, Chiang Mai and Lampun was because of the low-pressure mass passing the central region, east and lower northeast.

70% could be seen in each area.

Heavy rain could also be expected in some areas. Risk areas were Chiang Rai, Phetchabun, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi.

People in those areas were warned of flash floods and mountain run-off in 1-2 days.

60% of rain could be expected in Bangkok. Heavy rain would also be seen in some areas.

Theera Wongsamut, director general of the Royal Irrigation Department, said the mountain run-off and flood problems in the north did not affect the central region, since Sirikit and Bhumibol dams were still able to serve the amount of water.
