Bangkok - Thai AirAsia plans to open Bangkok-Hong Kong flying route in October, considering moving back to Don Muang Airport due to concern over political situation.
The budget airline plans to offer a Bangkok-Hong Kong flight per day, expecting the service will be available in October.
Booking can be made in next two weeks.
Free tickets will be given to first 5,000 customers who book online. This excludes the fuel surcharge and airport fee.
The return ticket price is about 10,000 baht per seat.The market price is 13,000-15,000 baht per seat.
Thai AirAsia expects 4.6-4.8 million passengers this year.
The Airports of Thailand (AOT) is asking the airlines to voluntarily move back to Don Muang Airport to reduce the Suvarnabhumi Airport’s congestion.
The airline is willing to give its cooperation to AOT, saying it will take at least five years to break even in terms of using the Suvarnabhumi Airport.
