Bangkok - Thai military decided to put off talks to settle the border dispute with Cambodia concerning the Preah Vihear temple.
Twenty soldiers from Cambodia and Thailand remain stationed at a small pagoda on a patch of disputed land near Cambodia's Preah Vihear temple, while 40 from both sides remain nearby, according to AFP.
Thai and Cambodian military officials previously agreed to pull back part of their troops.
Thai military demanded the meeting with Cambodia should be postoned.
However, no reason was given why they called off talks to settle the Preah Vihear temple dispute.
Thai officials were not immediately available to confirm the suspension of the talks, according to AFP.
It was believed the postponement was because of the uncertain political situation.
The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) demonstrators have rallied to protest against Samak government, calling for the resignation of the premier and his cabinet.
