74.40% are happy with Apirak’s performance

Bangkok - 74.40% of Thai people were satisfied with the Bangkok Governor’s overall performance, according to a survey. People proposed the traffic problem should still be focused.

Dhurakit Pundit University surveyed 10,050 people in Bangkok during May 25-31.

74.40% were the highest percentage it has ever had in the survey history.

Bangkokians were most happy with the lighting (3.91%), followed by the installation of the closed-circuit TVs (3.90%), sports corners in public places (3.87%), increasing number of computers in small schools (3.86%), and unconditionedly free schooling (3.85%) respectively.

Concerns over problems which needed to be solved urgently were also expressed.

The first priority was the traffic congestion (29.80%), followed by flood and drainage (9.85%), unsafety in life and assets (8.20%), garbage (7.91%), and air pollution (7.21%).

Minburi District offered the best service (3.97%) while Bangkok Yai District came in the second place, Klongsan District in the third place, Phra Khanong District in the fourth place, Samphanthawong District in the fifth place, and Tungkru District in the sixth place.

Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayodhin plans to compete in the next Bangkok Governor election.

About 200 million baht of budget will be spent to hold the election which is scheduled to take place on October 5.
