Bangkok - Thai people were encouraged to live their life in line with the self-sufficiency economic philosophy initiated by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Sumet Tantivejkul, chairman of the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), said Thais had to adjust their way of life to be in line with the self-sufficiency philosophy.
It is believed the retail oil prices will be 50 baht per litre at the end of this year.
Sumet said many Thai people did not get the meaning of the self-sufficiency economy properly.
They misunderstood only agriculture was focused in this philosophy.
In fact, the self-sufficiency economy is suitable for worldwide people due to three principles: self-estimation, rationality and wisdom.
The so-called philosophy will help play down the influence of consumerism society.
It is said Thailand’s seaside may be in Nakon Sawan province if the nature is not taken care of.
