Bangkok - Thailand was warned by Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong the relations between the two countries could be harmed by the controversial temple.

Cambodia attempted to have the ancient Hindu temple listed by the UN's cultural body UNESCO last year.

But that effort failed amid rumours that Thailand had blocked the deal.

The controversial temple was discussed during the no-confidence debate and Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama was much criticized for this issue.

Cambodia closed the temple after more than 100 Thais had marched to the compound to protest the deal early this week.

Cambodian foreign minister insisted Thailand would not lose any territory.
It is amazing that the temple site sits on Cambodian soil, but can only be easily accessed from Thailand.

Former Cambodian king Norodom Sihanouk took Thailand to the World Court in 1962 over the two countries' claim to Preah Vihear. The court ruled the temple belonged to Cambodia.
