Bangkok - The Bangkok Mass Transport Authority (BMTA) agreed not to collect the commission from both minus and white-blue bus operators to help reduce their burden.
Piyapan Chumpasut, deputy permanent secretary for transport, revealed the BMTA board agreed to follow the Deputy Transport Minister Songsak Thongsri’s policy to reduce the private bus operators’ burden.
Normally, the minibus and white-blue bus operators have to pay 35 and 60 baht per bus per day of commission respectively.
The BMTA will bear the burden itself until the Central Administrative Court approves the fare hikes.
Refineries will consider this afternoon how much the diesel price cut can be, planning to report their decision to Energy Minister Poonpirom Liptapanlop tomorrow.
Piyapan will meet the energy minister on May 30. A press conference on supportive measures is said to take place not later than 11.30 am.
More than 10,000 private buses previously stopped running to protest against the court’s verdict.
