Bangkok - Mr. Yanyong Amporntrakul, president of bus operators club, will tomorrow meet Deputy Transport Minister Songsak Thongsri to discuss 1.50-baht fare increase.
BMTA bus operators cited rising cost burden caused by soaring oil prices, especially the diesel price.
The current diesel price is over 30 baht per litre at the moment.
“Transport Ministry will focus on attracting the bus operators to turn to NGVs more. PTT was invited to give information on NGVs and ensure the number of service stations would serve the NGV demand,” said Mr. Songsak.
The bus operators were asked to freeze fares to reduce the impact of sluggish economy and increasing cost of living on people.
