Bangkok - The proper price of the five-kilogram Blue Flag rice is 145-150 baht, according to Tang Hua Mill, saying this will not mess the market up as there is limited number of it.
Mr. Suchart (Tang Hua) Pitakkaecha, managing director of the Tang Hua Mill, said there was not much rice which the government intended to release out of the stock to help relieve people’s cost living burden.
He believes the Blue Flag rice will not affect the overall rice selling.
The price of the 5% rained rice should be at 145-150 baht per five-kilogram bag. The market price is 165-170 baht.
Thailand is the world’s biggest rice exporter while other major rice exporters like Vietnam and India limited their rice exports to ensure sufficient domestic supply.
Tang Hua Mill sells its jasmine rice at the price of 175 baht per five-kilogram bag while the market price is 205 baht.
It also sells the 5% rained rice at 145 baht per five-kilogram bag while the market price remains at 165 baht.
