Bangkok - The Suvarnabhumi Airport was ranked one of the best three airports by Britain’s Wanderlust Magazine, according to Airports of Thailand (AOT).

Mr. Serirat Prasutanont, director of the Suvarnabhumi Airport, revealed Wanderlust Magazine announced the 2008 Wanderlust Travel Awards and Suvarnabhumi Airport was voted one of the best three airports by the magazine.

Magazine readers were mostly travelers. About 3,000 travellers were surveyed for their opinions.

Winning the Bronze Award, the Suvarnabhumi Airport came in the third place after Singapore’s Changi Airport and Hong Kong International Airport.

Mr. Serirat said the AOT would improve its services so as to become one of the world’s top ten airports in 2009 as planned.

Taking more than three decades to become true, the Suvarnabhumi Airport opened for limited domestic flight service on 15 September 2006 and opened for all domestic and international commercial flights on 28 September.

The airport was named by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
