Bangkok - Chiang Mai Governor Mr. Wibul Sanguanpong said he does not know if the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra will directly fly to Chiang Mai to come back to Thailand, getting no contact from the then-premier.
He also said he would provide the full security service if the then-prime minister came back.
It is believed Thaksin is currently in China.
Thaksin lover club in Chiang Mai will rally to welcome Thaksin back on February 28.
Mr. Wibul said he would fully support the rally if it is not against the law.
Previously, Miss Sansanee Nakpong, Thai Rak Thai Party’s former executive committee, confirmed there would be no press briefing on Thaksin return at the SC Park Hotel.
Pol Lt Col Tawee Sodsong, acting director general of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), did not give his comment on whether Thaksin’s bail would be granted or not.
