January 31, 2008
Bangkok - ABAC poll revealed approximately 60% of people believed Samak government would last only for two years due to coalition parties’ conflicts and severe corruption problem.

According to Assumption University (AU) poll, most respondents in 27 provinces wanted honest and competent prime minister with fast problem-solving ability.

3,506 people were surveyed during January 20-30.

Respondents were confident PM Samak would be able to solve the economic problem the most. However, they thought he could solve the southern unrest problem the least.

48% of respondents wanted the government to complete its term while 58.5% thought the government would last only for two years.

The short-term government can possibly be caused by conflicts between coalition parties and corruption problem.

Respondents wanted Samak government to take Surayud government as an example in terms of honesty. They also liked to see this government quickly solve problems just like Thaksin government did.
