A couple from a small town north of London made a 200-mile round trip to take their pet goldfish Nemo to a specialist vets for surgery to remove a tumour.
The operation lasted 45 minutes, during which he was asleep and out of the water so that the tumor could be removed.
Nemo recovered quickly from the procedure and was swimming normally once returned to the water.
