Warning of heavy rain and flash flood in east

Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Powerful southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will result in heavy rain, flash flood and mountain run-off in the eastern part of the country.

Fishermen were warned of navigation. Small-scale fishermen should stop sailing on June 4-6.

40 percent of rain will be in the north, particularly in Mae Hong Son and Tak.

In the northeast, 60 percent of rain can be expected, especially in Nongkhai, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Panom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Surin and Ubon Ratchathani.

40 percent of rain will be in the central region, in particular Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Supanburi and Ratchaburi.

In the east, there will be 60 percent of rain. Heavy rain will be seen in Sakaew, Chanthaburi and Trad. Waves can be as high as 2-3 meters high.

60 percent of rain will also be in the eastern south. Heavy rain can be seen in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumporn and Surat Thani.

In the western south, 60 percent of rain can be expected. Heavy rain will be in Ranong and Phang Nga. Waves can be 2-3 meters high.

40 percent of rain will be in Bangkok and surrounding provinces. Southwest wind travels at the speed of 15-30 kilometers per hour.
