Bangkok (ASTV Manager Online) – Public health ministry suggested Thai people take care of themselves and reduce drinking and smoking, so that they would not be at the Influenza A 2009 risk.

Smokers will usually get infected by the H1N1 virus more easily than the non-smokers.

Cigarette fumes cause infected windpipe which will result in less efficient process of bringing alien stuff out of lung and windpipe.

The new influenza spreads through coughing and sneezing. The virus will be in the air and ready to go in another person’s lung.

Drinking and smoking will normally lead to more severe infection since the body immunity drops.

29 countries have reported 4,379 cases of Influenza A (H1N1) infection on May 10, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

In Asia, infections have already occurred in Hong Kong (1), South Korea (3) and Japan (4).

The influenza A 2009 was first found in Mexico on May 2.
